We took a break because we both got so busy, but I think I want to start it up again in the next few weeks. Pretty cool way of massaging the creativity.

Chay-Nee - clever. Invoking the name of the antichrist. Spence. This is decidedly cool - I really dig the concepts you are rolling with here and really like the writing style as well - excellent work. This reminds me of the Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk. Are you still throwing this one around?

Hey Jim,

Actually, that's just me sketching in 3D. It will most likely stay rough like that for the whole RPG, which is what this is. My buddy Erik is playing GM and I'm his hapless player, wandering through the twisted corridors of his imagination. We play over email and through a Tumblr site and as he comes up with new scenarios, I draw, model, or sketch them. It's a creativity exercise for both of us. Just keeping our brains lubricated, ya know?

This is really cool. It looks much better than what I wasted my weekend on. After I saw you on Saturday I started messing around with match moving as soon as I got home. Long story short (trust me, I deleted like 3 paragraphs of rambling), all I managed was a sphere, and it looks crappy...but it was a first attempt so I don't feel so bad. Back to your project;
I really like the angle of the rendered shots, and the moon lighting is very convincing. The one thing that catches my eye is in the main shot, where the terrain has a more video-game texture feel to it, and the moon looks to real for the rest of the environment. It still looks awesome though, so you go that going for ya. I'm looking forward to seeing some character modeling eventually. Looks like a fun game (if it goes that direction)... what kind of format would it be? First-Person Shooter (with machetes)?.... RTS?

Sounds like a blast! I'm reminded of MIrror's Edge, Earthdawn, Fallout, and Beyond Good & Evil, all at the same time.

Oh man that's so cool. It's really crucial for creative people to continue to explore these realms of thought when they're pressed with assignments and/or jobs in a less-creative arena. I do a lot of art at school to help me keep my sanity- all of my classes involve calculus-based physics, vector calculus, or tough inorganic chemistry. Creature design and environment rendering keep me alive through all that.

Thanks! I really should have been working on the Aquarium gig, but I just got carried away. Hey. It's a Sunday!

This is just an RPG that my buddy Erik and I are doing over email - something to keep the creativity juices flowin'.

That's wicked cool. So is this just a side project for fun, or something more serious?
