NBC UX #Fail

Me: home from a long day.
Deb and the Girls™: sitting in the living room watching some crappy chick flick.
Me: I think I’ll watch some olympics video on the NBC site…
NBC: You don’t have the right version of Silverlight.
Silverlight: Do you wanna?
Mac: Hey!  Are you sure?

Helpful things to know…

Two very helpful pieces of info that I learned in the past 24 hours:

Western Digital drives are preformatted with NTFS.  In order to install them on an Airport Extreme, you must first reformat them so they are writable by your mac clients.  Use Journaled (Extended).

A side note: Time Machine actually WILL work on the airport [...]

Upgrade madness.

Short post here.  I upgraded the blog to the latest version of WP.  What a pain.  It may be that I’m just a bonehead, but good GOD what a process.  No fun.

biomimicry – Floating Penguins

German automation company Festo AG has an amazing demo of their latest robotics experiments.  Flying and swimming penguins as well as some very cool modular robotics components.  It reminds me of Theo Jansen’s walking sculptures I posted about last year.
Check out the video here.
Update 16:13PST
More Festo robots. This one looks a little scary actually…

Oh. Right,… I’m a geek.

Had a great day at E3 again yesterday – Tons of recordings and a few cool pics.  Cam and Leneb and i had a conversation over breakfast as to what the litmus test for one being a geek is.  I believe I’ve found at least one method of determination:

This is an Augmented Reality game.  Not [...]
